If you use too much water, it will take the carpet longer to dry, and could even damage the floor underneath. If you do your own carpets, you need to make sure you keep your steam cleaner in good condition, and that you know how to use it properly.

To make the most of your carpet cleaning efforts, don’t forget to remove all of the furniture out of the room, so that you can get up any dust that may have settled underneath. Before you start, make sure you vacuum the area thoroughly, to help remove as much dirt and debris as possible. Once you finish cleaning your carpet, make certain that you clean out your machine and store it according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and once the carpet has completely dried, move the furniture back into the room.

Steam cleaning your carpets can be a lot of work, but is something that we should all do, and maybe even more often than every six months, if you have children, or indoor pets especially.
